Powerful Computer

About Me

The Full Story

From an early age, I was always intrigued by computers. When I was between the age of five and six years old, I built my first PC with the help of my grandparents. It wasn't anything super crazy and I'm pretty sure that it was utilizing the operating system Microsoft XP. Even still, I grew a strong appreciation for computers.

Throughout my high school career, I attended multiple CyberPatriot competitions. I was the dedicated Windows guy at the time, with the help of my friend Michael. We were able to make it to regionals multiple times and I was pleased with our performance. Those days consisted of spending between four to five hours figuring out the competition images and the remainder of the time enjoying pizza and listening to music. I was also able to secure two certifications in high school: CompTIA Networking+ and CompTIA Security+. My high school offered a tech program nicknamed "Hornet Tech" and I found myself spending majority of my free time in high school there. Apart from my tech classes, I was heavily involved in advanced placement classes and BRVGS (Blue Ridge Virtual Governors School). Within BRVGS, I accomplished a decent amount of research towards cyber issues and was able to secure a short-term internship at Bluestone Analytics located in Charlottesville, VA. During this internship, I was exposed to real-world situations in a small cyber-firm. They showed me the day-to-day operations of their business and allowed me to help with small tasks such as data analysis and research.

After graduating from high school in 2018, I was admitted to George Mason University as a B.S. Cybersecurity Engineering student. I was also enrolled in the Honors college and completed around 60 credits at my time at Mason. Some highlights of my coursework include programming languages such as Python and C++, as well as heavy math and cyber courses. In the Spring of 2020, COVID-19 started to spread. This caused all my courses to move to an online format and I decided that I needed to take a short break from school.

In the fall of 2022, I decided that I wanted to transfer to Old Dominion University. I remained a Cybersecurity student and found that the program offered at ODU was much more affordable for myself. I am expected to finish my degree in the summer of 2024. At ODU, I have experienced courses that allowed me to expand my skills with research, writing, Linux, and other necessary cyber skills. My expected GPA is a 4.0.

Throughout all my studies, I have been very dedicated and resilient. I confidently can say that I have equipped myself with a solid foundation in cybersecurity principles. Some of these principles include networking security, ethical hacking, research, data analysis, vulnerability assessment, and basic programming skills. In the world of cybersecurity, what is true today may not necessarily be true tomorrow. Due to this, I try to keep up with the latest industry trends and keep learning. Hopefully, I can put my hardwork and dedication to use some day very soon!
